Natural Inducements
In 2020 Wescorp Agarwood started research into developing a natural inducement by fungi. We already knew the fungi was present and trees were naturally developing agarwood, it only made sense to invest in our own method to ensure all our processes were in house and the methods protected by our IP.
After more than 2 years of trials and research we were able to produce our own inducement method and started inoculating trees. The results were outstanding and Wescorp committed to only using our inducement method moving forward.
We captured 3 fungi from naturally effected resin in our plantations. This resin had developed naturally due to storm damage or being knocked by mowers. We found these three fungi together force the tree to develop the oud resin.
We drill holes in the trees and insert a copper pipes to induce the fungi into the tree.
The first commercial harvesting of our naturally induced trees was in 2024, we are now distilling these trees and have products available online.
